octubre 21, 2021 -

Webedia Brazil, along with 14 other media outlets and organizations in Latin America, was selected to participate in the Video Business Accelerator program, offered by the Facebook Journalism Project in collaboration with Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ)

The Video Business Accelerator is a free program that aims to teach sustainable business strategies around video to global newsrooms. Media outlets will meet virtually for 10 weeks to participate in training led by video industry experts from around the world. They will be supported by expert trainers and coaches to increase their revenues, reach new audiences, measure the success of new initiatives, and deliver their professional journalism across different platforms. After that, they will receive a $12,000 fund to develop a video project over the next three months.

«This project is another fruit of the incredible partnership we have with Facebook. Having our goals aligned with Webedia’s partners provides extremely relevant results for the business and enables participation in projects such as the Video Business Accelerator, which accredits us even more as a reference in this market. We are in this program with our best, and I trust in the fruits that this team can bring», said Diogo Ferreira, head of Social Media at Webedia Brazil.

The Latin American group is formed by a variety of vehicles, from printed newspapers to large broadcasters, from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Peru. Webedia Brazil’s team will be led by Ana Carolina Teijido, Social Media coordinator, and includes Guilherme Resende, special projects, and Barbara Mannara, post-production core manager at Massiv. Diogo Ferreira, head of Social Media, is the executive representing Webedia in the project.
